Salute 2015

A bit late I know but here is a little post on Salute 2015. Great day out and as usual an extremely large selection of table top game to ogle at and buy. Every year I still manage to discover some company that makes top notch scenery or more alternative models for use in games that I had not heard of before. Every big name in the scene was there and all the major 3rd partY retailers were lurking about to steal all your monies. I managed to pick up loads of scenery bits and bobs and also grab a few models in the process. I got some great minis from Hassle Free miniatures ( who also sorted me a free masked head as I wanted to avoid painting skin at all costs ) to stand in as my US Ariadna grunts as they don't have models yet but have beastly stat lines for 10pts. The only down side to the day was getting a serious slap by reality and realizing how far some peoples talents can go with a paint brush, not the worst thing to take away form a day out I guess.

Lots of space battles this year. Maybe its the popularity of X Wing but these games seem to be getting really popular at the moment. This table was cool all the big mother ships has LED's in them.

One game that stood out to me was Bushido, a skirmish game that requires as few as 2 or 3 minis to play. Will probably be my next venture as the board is also small so wont be another 2 year projects that never really gets finished.

New Aliens game looked pretty neat, pretty nice crates I might add also.

One day, one day I shall be painting all armies like this. There was some serious talent on display at the painting competition, I took loads of photos but they all turned out really bad due to the reflection on the glass.

No idea what game/film/series this is from but its cool albeit impractical for any games.

This guy was bossing out his Blood Angels power amour, it looked seriously restricting and he was sweating buckets all day, nothing in comparison to the emperors sacrifice right? he was fortunate enough however to have his very own guardsman as a servant all day so that's a bonus.

This table is the same feel i'm trying to get with my table all bust up and left to rot. accept this was much better and way way larger.

Cant remember what game/company this was from but it looks like a fiend straight out of Final Fantasy IX

If only everyone Infinity table was this scale.

These models were by a a company called http://www.figone.fr/en/ who make plinths, busts and random hero figures. Probably some of the best painting of the day on display at this table and I would seriously recommend checking them out a lot of unique bases to give that edge for your special miniatures.

This table unsuprisingly was very popular, I wanted to have a go at the game they were playing, it looked like hero quest or descent but it was way to crowded to have a go though but my hat goes off to the team who must have spent a rather long time putting this together.

Not even sure this game is playable but it looked awesome AVAST MATEY!
