Just Play's ITS.

So I am back after a two week hiatus. A quick bit about myself as I never really introduced myself on this blog. I have been unemployed since last November so have had all the time in the world to do all of the Infinity related projects, build a table, paint a table, do two entire factions fully painted up, go to every tournament I can get to and of course keep on top of this blog. In fact, to post every Friday was this new year's resolution and I am normally pretty good at keeping to them. I am currently in the recruitment process of joining the Royal Navy's diving squadron. I quit my last job working at Yorkshire Water in November 2015 so I could train for my diver assessment, but didn't hit it hard enough and on the trip away to sunny Scotland I failed my BFT ( Battle Fitness Test ) by 13 seconds god damn it! I totally blame the 3 week holiday to Japan right before. Japanese eat pretty healthy but being the big stupid giajin that I am, I was having about 5 meals a day so it didn't really balance out! Anyway I got my papers from the MOD through in the post and my next assessment is in October. Being so far away I went and got a job. My previous employment was shift work so I still got a lot of free time but this new gig is 9 to 5. HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE DO IT?! Its an alright job but does not leave much time for Infinity between working and the gym. I have also been playing as much Infinity as I can recently as I seem to have stumbled onto some good tactics and am doing quite well on the international rankings. I keep getting 1st then this Epsolon921 keeps snatching it back. I will find you Epsolon921 and I will settle this once and for all! Anyway, point is I am back and will hopefully be getting a post out every Friday if I can. I have lots of things to talk about, new Morat force I wish to discuss, lots of events planned including a tournament I am putting on myself, new units and of course all the new rules.

That's me with my new book.
Back to the recent event we went to. I went to Liverpool with Laina and Pete. Also known on the forums as . . . Laina and Lilith. This was a small event put on by the guys who run the gaming store Just Play. A few familiar faces and really good tables. They had been in contact with some of the guys who are putting on the Northern Open and decided to run the same missions so we could practice. I was in two minds about this as I will never turn down practice but this did also mean that if anyone went to both events they would see my list. But kind of didn't matter as most of it is in camo anyway and I am also really predictable so what ever.

Missions:
* Seize the Antennas
* Cold Sleep
* Emergency Transmission

As you can see all these missions are about grabbing objectives, so a lot of specialists are needed. Normally I would post pics of my list but as I said don't want no sneaky sneaky research by the enemies of the superior Aradinian empire snooping about.

Game one: Seize the Antennas

First game was against a lovely chap named James Hilton-Scott with a rather nicely painted force as you can see in some of the pics. I had seen him about before at other events but not had a game. He was running a fun list and using the original pain train, that's right 5 Brigada stomping about as if they owned the place. James chose to go first so I chose sides and set up. This was perfect as I pretty much always want to go second in a mission like this so I got everything I wanted. His set up was short. 3 wild cats and 5 Brigada all behind a building. Simple enough, he was going first and knew no templates could hit him right away. I had a lot of camo so did the standard thing of having all my line troops hidden at the back covering every approach, few snipers on rooftops and about a bajillion markers scattered about the board. James' first turn was not surprising really. He moved his 5 man link from hell up the table. The hardest part for me was holding back and restraining myself from shooting back. He took out my grunt sniper quick time with his HMG, then wasted an order to try and discover one of my markers but failed. Realizing I was not going to  be silly and reveal everything at one time, he dropped his Tomcat onto the board now that the sniper was not watching certain sections. I did get a free shot with a metro and missed. He then tried to run away and he was getting dangerously close to my LT so I had to pop out a Chasseur and blast that bad guy away. After this failed attempt at taking some orders away the pain train moved forward but this time I was ready. I waited until he was right in the open. A mine triggered two hard cases shot, a Chasseur and a Cateran. The mine took off a wound, the two shot guns did 3 wounds with their spray and the Cateran missed. Now he was standing in the open facing 4 ARO's and two more camo markers still hidden. After this his LT broke away from the Link to try and take down the Cateran but I was lucky and got a crit and took him out with one precise shot to the face.

Next it was my turn and to cut a long story short I ganged up on the brigade with my Spetsnaz. I say ganged up even though it was 4 against 1 because the Spetsnaz is probably the most powerful unit for his points in the game full stop. OK, a Swiss Guard or Charotnid are better but this dude comes in a 38 points and is one of the few guys who can take on a link all by himself. And he did. And it was beautiful.
To cut a long game short not much happened for a few turns, but in my next go Uxia ran up the table dropping smoke, then her buddy Chasseur ran up behind her and dropped mines right in front of his few remaining Wildcats. I had all the objectives but one brave wildcat ran at the objective and made a WIP check in the last order triggering the mines but getting the objective anyway.

I couldn't even get onto the objective with these guys in the way.

That's it step into the open for me!
"Not so tough now you are all by yourself huh Mrs Brigada"

Game 2: Cold sleep

Well game two was interesting. I played a chap named Mark O'Brien, one of the local players and on top of that one of the good ones, so I obviously had to beat the pants off of him. We played on a new themed board that was a sort of supply pick up on a train line. Something rather reminiscent of the first rail roads in the wild west. I lost the roll and Mark decided to go first. He was using vanilla Aleph so lots of hard line troops backed up by two total reaction HMG remotes. 1st turn was awesome for me. I stripped him of two orders and hid like a coward. Except for one unit, my Cateran half way up a church roof. It worked really well as I could see the entire board and having mimitism negated the no cover for climbing up a wall. He literally couldn't do anything. It cost Mark 3 orders trying to spot him and failing. Add this to the 2 he was denied that was half an order pool gone on literally nothing. He did manage to get his Myrmidon with a Spitfire right into my line and took out a 112 and grunt sniper on his travels. After that he went into suppression in cover so I was at -12 to hit it. The mission was very objective heavy but we both put down two camo markers either side of the two main objectives so were both afraid of moving in close.

My first turn was pretty good. I took an Imrandhino to this event. I am really not a fan of extremely impetuous. Yeah you get a free order but you have no control over it and don't ever get cover so whats the point? People kept telling me to try this guy so for 8 points I though I would give it a go as he is an engineer. I was lucky enough to roll for an AP rifle on the booty chart so used him to take out some net rods. I didn't want to lose a specialist but on the same merit I really did not want an ODD Spitfire wielding baddie all up in my deployment, so decided to sacrifice the Imrandhino to chain rifle him... except it wasn't a sacrifice as he got one hit from his suppression that I passed and he failed his ARM roll to a chain rifle and died. GREAT SUCCESS! I then took out one of his total reaction remotes with my Cateran on the roof and got rid of a few order monkeys. I figured out who his LT was right at the back but didn't want to try and brave getting him as he had a remote next to him with a heavy flamer.

Mark was out for blood after this. He had lost a lot of orders to the superior Ariadna gunishment, pumping pretty much everything into his total reaction remote he pushed up the board and took out 4 of my guys. Its all good, plenty more where they came from. After that two guys moved closer to his nearest objectives and secured them.

Ok I did it again. Was so angry at myself the entire way home. My Imrandhino ran over to the Myrmidons corpse and scavenged his spit fire. It really was his lucky day - he managed to get himself an AP rifle and Spitfre for free. I am sure they will fetch a pretty price on the black market. He then ran forward and took out a total reaction bot and another Myrmidon. Next the Spetsnaz burst onto the scene and i'm telling you now HE REIGNED DOWN FIRE! Just destroyed everything in his sight! The idea was to keep a few things alive and just completely mop up in last turn. I had 17 orders left and 6 specialists on the table. One was Uxia right next to an objective. But you know what I did it again. I DID IT AGAIN. I put the enemy in retreat... by 2 points. It was the saddest day ever. 2 points. That was all she wrote. His softec scooted forward and nabbed the main objective putting him in a major victory. Now not to say Mark was not a good player, but he had very few orders and I had 17 regular, 3 specialists in camo by objectives, pretty much complete table control as what he had left was hiding and I also had all my big toys left. When will I learn, right?

Man of the match for the opponents he took on.
Dr. Useless did nothing again except die.
This little guy was pinned down for the entire game by a T2 sniper.
Game 3: Emergency transmission

Having lost and not being put on the top table my last game was chill. I was playing a Pan O player called Andy Phizacklea, who I think had literally played about 5 games before. He worked at the store and was getting into Infinity, so most of the game was us taking it slow and going through rules. I wont call him a cheesy bastard as he was very new but he did run a Cutter, Father knight and Croc man. His cutter legged it right into my lines. and I mean basically touching my back line. He then blasted his HMG over and over and over into 4 of my line troopers and they repeatedly dodged every single shot.

In my first turn I ran a Chasseur behind him and let rip with the flamer. He did pass 4 dodge saves in a row, but as soon as this failed and his bloody TO was gone my Spetsnaz popped out and hit him 3 times. Unfortunately for Andy he failed all 3 rolls and the mighty war machine collapsed. It was pretty cinematic as after this my Imrandhino engineer ran over and pulled all the cybernetic cables out the back of his neck and got me my data card of Coupe de grace. I like to imagine both the Chasseur and Imrandhino standing in front of it scratching their heads then the Imrandhino saying "Sod it yank em all out" then proceeding to pull out every wire in sight.

Andy's next turn was slightly eventful. His father knight ran out only to be confronted by a Cateran. Being new to the game he did not know that in the active turn when you dodge you don't get the 2 inch move so he was stuck in the open staring down a superior warrior! He did fall but made a good effort passing one save and one dodge but eventually falling to the T2 ammunition.

We were running out of time at this point so in my last turn with nearly 20 orders just nabbed all I needed to to get a major victory and we called it a game. I hope to see Andy at next month's event and see how much he has gotten on with the rules, especially as HS3 has just dropped. I didn't get any pics of my last game as we were spending most of the time going over rules and units but I did manage to get some cool shots of others games. I managed to come second in the end. Best loser isn't bad I guess but I am hungry for that Krakot model as I am just starting my Morats and they are AVA 3 so want to scoop up as many as I can!

Warzone ITS 2016

So last weekend was my first tournament of 2016 put on by Adam Jones down in Birmingham. This time I took my vanilla Ariadna as I wanted to use a few units like Van Sant and some Tank Hunters. Unfortunately I did not manage to get many photos, as I was playing pretty hard and didn't have time to set the camera up for lots of shots. I did however manage to get first place, so got that new Morat unit and also won myself a Happy panda Noodle bar by Antenocitis Workshop! who were kind enough to have donated it as a prize. This was pretty good as I am currently making a new board and need a restaurant for it so a massive bonus there! I took two lists as is the standard, but my stupid fat fingers deleted one by accident and I cant remember exactly what was in it. The below list how ever was very similar and I did use in two of the games:

What you see in pool 1
What the bad guy sees in pool 1
What you see in pool 2
What the bad guy sees in pool 2

This pic has nothing to do with the event I just wanted to show off my new model. He stands in as either a Kazak doctor with that rifle strapped to his back or a 112 if I am playing any sectorial. His trousers are painted the same as my kazak's so he blends in with them, but also has the axe so can easily as a 112 if need be.

Game 1 Quadrant Control

In my first game I came up against Luke Taylor. I have played him numerous times before. In fact it was against him that I first had to play against Chasseurs as he some times runs MMRF. This time however he was using US so I was instantly crapping myself - I thought he would be using Van Sant, but it turns out not today. I decided to take first turn as we were playing Quadrant Control, so I wanted to be able to move into sectors and react to how he had deployed his forces up the table. At first I was a little worried as he had a couple of those new desperado bikers. One instantly tore up the middle of the board and put on the pressure. He then moved his Foxtrot up with basically no AROs against him (as I was hiding) and threw down a mine to stop my Cateran getting any kills. I think in the first turn I lost an SAS with a chain rifle, Grunt sniper, Briscard HRL and basic chain rifle order monkey volunteer. This was the list I have not got photos for in case you noticed some of those models were not in the above pictures. Not much memorable happened for the next few turns - a bit of back and forth but I did do a sneaky sneaky and have my commando walk on in turn three to secure a quarter, leaving my tank hunter free to pick off his 5 man link of grunts that were stuck in the middle of the board. I did have Van Sant walk on the back but he only killed a baggage bot and marauder I think it was, so not the powerhouse I was wanting.

I passed my grunt roll as I took only one in this list and got him nice and close prone on a gantry right outside his deployment. He was instantly hard countered by a camo marker and they both just sat there for the entire game looking at each other.

Oh yeah 5 man link of grunts on a roof. counts as AM6 and better than my snipers in ARO due to the +3BS. Nice one Luke. I could basically not move around the board for ages with these guys looking at me.

This guy walked on and instantly got shot by my engineer but its a really nice paint job so threw in a pic of it not dead on the table edge.

These guys had to get a move on as they were the only few left other than a Dozer and a camo marker at the end.

Game 2 Antenna Field

Ahhhh my old nemesis Nigel. He kicked the crap out of me in the last game we played at the Northern Open so now I had to return the favour. It was a matter of honour. I chose to go second again so had to set up first as usual. I rolled and passed for Uxia and my Hard case to go right outside his deployment zone. I think this worked as the hard case has his ambush camo and I plonked it right next to an objective so it looked like a mine. Not much to say about set up, although Nigel had his Sin Eater watching the whole board so it was very hard to move about at times. He ran his Moran up to an objective so I could not get near it with anything as he had 2 krazy koalas. Going second is the way to win for sure. All I had to do was make him waste orders getting into position then react accordingly. Easily done with many camo markers and lots of Heavy Weapons. I brought my commando on in the first turn to take out Pi Well as that thing really upsets me. I didn't want to give it the chance to get into position and go into suppression putting me at instant -12 in cover to shoot it. Commando then shot his remote, capturing the objective in the middle of the board and I grabbed 2 in the end and the Moran was only counting for one. Was an intense battle after that. Nigel's Pupniks ran up the board and surrounded the objective in my deployment and it took sooooo many orders to dislodge them. In the end I prevailed by having my Dozer creep up and cautious move through a tiny gap, so as not to be gunned down by an Intruder with HMG watching the whole battlefield.

Only got one photo from this game, this was his Lieutenant obvious on the roof. I realise now why he did everything he could to get rid of all the camo markers as they were about 3 inches away from him and carrying shotguns.

Game 3 Comms Centre

Sorry literally no photos of this game. It was the final match and I had won 2 major victories so was concentrating really bloody hard. I came up against Jasper. Last event I went to I got 1st and he came in at 2nd so I knew he was good. I had also never played him before so had no idea what his style of play was like. The one redeeming factor I did have was that he was using Nomads and they were my first force so I already knew what his units were capable of. Unfortunately for him I shoved everything in camo so he had no idea what to expect. He passed his infiltration roll for his camo marker that turned out to be a Bandit but I instantly countered it with a chasseur. He moved. I shot with a flamer. He shot with a combi. We both died. As an Ariadna player this was good for me as his was specialist, cost more points and was right in my lines so I was happy with that exchange. However I sucked  at getting in his face with my rolls. Jasper put a reaction bot and engineer on a roof. so to hard counter I rolled for a grunt with a flamer and failed. Then rolled for a grunt with a flamer and failed. Then rolled for a Hardcase with a shotgun and failed. Then finally passed with Uxia in a 12. He was pretty quick to figure out what it was though with that roll. Managed to take out the engineer and the baggage bot in ARO and not have her die so that was a specialist and a lot of points I instantly gained for free. The basic layout of the game was he moved up really quick and grabbed some objectives, then I had to slowly try and chip away at his force. It was not easy because he had two Moran Massai with Krazy Koalas locking down the entire middle strip of the board and also behind buildings, so I could not get any lines of fire. My Cateran did however smash the crap out of his Alguacil link by picking them off one at a time, but it took a few orders to get it done. I thought he had a lot of points on the table so was surprised when he revealed his camo marker. He went on a rampage with an Intruder HMG down the right hand side of the board. I was seriously lucky when he was right in my deployment zone gunning everything down then from miles away when my LT hit him in something like 2 or 3 and took him down. I think one more order on that guy and he would have targeted the LT just to knock an order away and get a lucky LT kill. In my last turn I had to get 2 objectives. My commando FO ran on and got behind his guys and took a few down, then made a run for the objective and got it. I had a few more orders, so my 112 doctor took one more for shits and giggles and in the last roll of the game stole another off him. Fun times.

So that was that. I managed to nab first place at my first event of ITS and scored nice and high so hopefully will get myself a place at the UK masters. This is the chart as it stands based on last weekend. Now to crack on with painting that new model even though I have no idea what most of its rules are yet.

Force de Réponse Rapide Merovingienne in ITS 2015

The 2015 ITS season is now over, and it’s time for my French to take a break.

I have been playing Infinity for a few years now. I originally started with Vanilla Nomads then went on to Corregidor. After that I managed to nab myself a vanilla Pan O force. but it has only been the past six months that I have really been getting into Infinity. Before it was the occasional game every few weeks and, to be honest, most of the time I had no idea what was going on and 50% of the time was spent flicking through rule books. However, when I started to get my head around the rules I wanted to start a new force. Ariadna seemed like a good enough choice to me. Very different from nomads and Pan O and that tank hunter with Auto Cannon looks the business. I do like the vibe they give off. You have all these hi-tech governments constantly struggling for power, and on top of that you have the super advanced alien races with units like the Speculo Killer wielding a lightsaber e.t.c. But who needs any of that when you can just carry a cannon three times your own body length and somehow hide under a camo net with it?

I started with vanilla but it didn't take long to get drawn into the French for one reason - what’s more awesome than a lycanthropic hard-as-nails warrior? Well clearly the X visor, viral rifle wielding bad ass sent to chase him down and kill him. As soon as I had a good look at the Loup Garou model I instantly bought the full five man link and it just went from there. So now that the 2015 season is over I can go into detail and do a breakdown of the list I took to all the tournaments I took it to. This list did me well and I managed to win two events with it and at one point had a winning streak of over 10 games (yes, my head is massive I know).

First off, let’s look at the order pools. As I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago I like to go large with orders and avoid that impetus nonsense if I can. However these pools were arranged slightly differently from a previous blog and I shall explain the difference and why. One order pool has most of my specialists in and comes in at nine orders. The other slightly smaller one comes in at eight orders on the table and only has one specialist. This was done for a single reason - to save time at events. Order pool one goes first and does as much damage as it can then order pool two goes second and cleans up objectives or sneaks into position.

As you can see the first pool has a full link with some serious firepower and a commando HMG. To put it into perspective that Loup Garou sniper is hitting on 18s with B3 when in good range and with his X visor even up close is still smashing the enemy on BS15. Nice. The only reason I have that Engineer in the first pool is because he has to be in the same order pool as his Track Mauls.

The second order pool plays in a completely different way. It’s sneaky, lightly equipped and full of specialists. I did plonk the Briscard in there so that in the first game turn I can pump out some serious gunishment using up to 18 orders if needs be. My style of play is always to do max damage in the first turn to starve the enemy of orders then run rings around them with 18 orders in the second turn. You can take a Jotum if you want, I will just spend everything I have taking away his orders. It’s a tactic that seems to work well for some reason.

And below is what the enemy can see. It’s way more satisfying when people can’t see what you have. I have started making lists for this years ITS season and I am currently playing with a list that consists of two SAS 2 Chasseurs and three Foxtrot but that's a topic for another time.

So that's the basic concept of this list - let’s have a look at each unit and discuss their merits and weaknesses.

First off, the Briscard. I have literally nothing bad to say about this guy. TAKE HIM EVERY TIME. He is an absolute bargain. One of the rare units that has MSV and equipped with a Heavy Rocket Launcher he comes in at 1.5 SWC and 23pts. Get this right, normal points-wise he is the cheapest load out? Someone was drunk when they made that stat line, and in comparison a line Kazak with a Missile launcher is six points cheaper. Considering he has a better BS better armor and MSV1 it’s a no-brainer.

The 112. not much to say. He is OK I guess. Nice model and as the only doctor option you kind of have to take him. Coming in at a meagre 12pts well worth it and never an issue when building lists. He mostly hangs back with his Briscard bro in my games to try get his mate back on his feet but has been known to take out the occasional Aquila Guard when the mood takes him. Might start taking a few as they are AVA3 in this sectorial and it would be nice to at least try some healing.

Alguacil hacker. We all know how I feel about hacking in Ariadna. It’s wank. But he is better than the Wardriver so that is something to take home. I do feel slightly bad though as he got me 6VPs in my last game of Highly Classified at the Northern Open. Was also a nice change painting something colourful instead of drab camo fatigues. Again at a tournament you kind of have to take him as a specialist for your classifieds.

Metros. These guys are the bread and butter of the French. They have completely rubbish stat lines but have so many options for load outs for very very cheap. Just messing about on the army builder you can take 12 guys with HMGs for 228pts. Silly business. Two of these guys are equipped with only rifles. I did this for two reasons - first off, nice cheap orders and second is my LT and if I equipped the other as a medic it would be so painfully obvious who was in charge. Every game they both set up prone on rooftops either side of the board so on the off chance the enemy went hunting for them it would still only be a 50/50 chance of getting the right one. This usually puts people off and as such they have never been taken down.

The other Metro was equipped with inferior infiltration and D charges. This only cost an extra 2pts and no SWC. It rarely works but if you fail so what? It’s still a cheap order covering your back lines. When you do pass, however, people start to panic as for some reason not many people are familiar with the French so have no idea what it is. Or, they know how lethal Chasseurs can be so set up accordingly to try hard counter. The satisfaction I get when people spend three or four orders getting to them only to find out it’s a load of old crap hiding under a sheet and not the threat they were fearing is a good feeling. Also the D charges are a nice bonus as you might get sabotaged as your data card so can get it done right of the bat in the first turn.

Commando. This guy is awesome. With AM2 and Mimitism he is quite survivable and given a HMG is rather good at handing out naps. The trick with this guy is to show restraint. I try bring him on in turn two or three. That way what little the enemy has left will be pushing forward trying to grab objectives and people really don't expect to see him in the last turn. Another tactic I use with these guys is to take two on missions like Frontline and walk them on in the last turn. It may seem like a waste but dropping over 60pts on the table and not giving the enemy any chance to stop it is always good.

Engineer and Track Maul. I always take these three guys. They total out at 25pts and generate three orders and extra 40pts of baggage AND give a specialist. Engineer is a bit of a non-event just a basic line troop stat but does have D charges, this can come in handy when teamed up with those Loup Garous that have Adhesive Launchers. The real appeal to this option is the baggage bots. In tournaments total army points are counted to break any ties at the end. Simply taking these guys instantly gets you a boost of 120pts at the end of the day and that can easily mean a lot. And of course they are great in missions like Quadrant Control giving the extra points on the board. One thing to remember they can replenish disposable weapons I like to take a Moblot with Panzerfaust in a separate order pool and put them next to each other so you can just blast away all day. Also handy when you run three Chasseurs all equipped with mines.

The only downside is they have no offensive weaponry so if you are playing classified and you get the data card to fix a STR point you can't as your opponent just lets them drive on by without taking his ARO knowing you can’t threaten him back. This happened in my last game at the Northern Open and it stopped me from getting a 10pt win. Oh well.

The good bit now. Loup Garous. As I mentioned before these guys along with the Swiss guard are my favorite unit in the game. Everything about them is a winner. They look cool, they have cool fluff, have awesome weaponry, they are quite cheap and they are named after the French version of a werewolf. Well actually a better version of a werewolf that can change at will and has control over itself not just the having the pleasure of being a rabid dog once a month if you happen to go outside.

Anyway these guys are freaking awesome on the table. They pack a viral rifle and X visor with BS12 for a mere 21pts! Or, for even cheaper, a Boarding Shotgun and Adhesive Launcher for only 18pts! We all know how good big link teams are but with units packing X visors as standard that a burst 4 Viral rifle shot at up to 48 inches at BS12 throwing out a potential 8 BTS saves that make you deader than dead! Every time I play French I use these guys. I did tinker with a five man link of Moblots one time but it cost more points and was nowhere near as good. So as it stands I can’t hype these lads enough except for the one downside - they can’t take any specialists.

Oh and here is the fluff on Loup Garous in case you were curious.

"The Loup Garou (also can be known as rougarou) is a French legend of a human who changes into a wolf at his/her own will. The word 'loup' is a French word that means wolf and 'garou' is an old Frankish word similar to 'werewolf'. The legend says that when a person comes into contact with a loup garou and sheds the blood of the beast, the Loup Garou will then changed to its human form and reveal their secret. The victim then becomes a Loup Garou for one hundred and one days. If the victim speak of the encounter to anyone, they become a loup garou themselves. But if they remain quiet about it, they will return to their human form and continue on with their lives. In the legends, the loup garou is said to be someone the victim knows, such as a jealous former lover.

The legend was often used to scare children when misbehaving (ex: "make your bed or the loup garou is gonna get ya'!" ) What makes them different from the common werewolf is that they don't change with the cycles of the moon and have complete change over their actions. So, what makes these creatures so dangerous and terrifying is the fact that while in their wolf form they are completely aware and as intelligent as they are in their human form. With their enhanced abilities and senses, it make them difficult to destroy. These are magnificent, intelligent and blessed creatures (in some tales), but beware le Loup Garou..."

And finally the Chasseurs. For those of you unfamiliar these guys are the best skirmishers in the game hands-down. If anybody tells you otherwise they are a filthy liar and you should not be associating yourself with them. Stat lines are standard for a skirmisher and they have all the standard options, FO, Minelayer, Sniper etc... but the selling point is someone had the genius idea of giving them Flamer and sixth sense LV1. These guys are essentially walking mines that can drop mines. They are perfect for hunting the enemy LT with camo and forward deployment giving you stealth and all the nice little tricks you can pull off with them. Sixth sense is highly underrated. Having the option of delaying your ARO then smashing people with a flamer has given me the upper hand in many situations. These guys are still quite good in vanilla. The SAS do have a chain rifle option for more points, giving you that massive template but that does not come with a rifle or mines like the Chasseur so in my books that makes them not as good. Chasseurs are nice and cheap coming in at roughly 20pts depending on what you want to give them.

So that's all the units and order pools I have been using. The list is not without its weaknesses but the strengths way outweigh them. Let’s have a quick round up.

Weaknesses
  • Feeble hacking game
  • Only one of each specialist
  • Baggage bots have no offense
  • No smoke
Strengths
  • Strong Link
  • Lots of deadly AROs at long and short range
  • Instant board control with all the forward deployment units and mines
  • Numerous heavy hitters
  • Strong AD unit
  • Lots of regular orders
  • Everything is cheap so it’s hard for the enemy to kill off army points en masse
  • Viral
  • Hard to kill LT

So there, you been told. That was my musings on my French list I used for 2015. I threw in a few other lists using link teams of Metros as you have to submit two lists for tournaments but I never even bothered using them on the day as this list does it all. 2015 will probably still see me using Ariadna but most likely vanilla as I have been missing my Tank Hunters. This being said though I don't want to be going to events and seeing people using this - you’re just not allowed. Going to have to find your own way of getting that sweet, sweet ITS model.
